Liberation Houssen
I took these photos during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Houssen. A Freedom Parade consisting of more than 60 vintage military vehicles opened the event, retracing the path of the liberators in the 'Poche de Colmar'.
This parade was followed by a commemorative ceremony during which a plaque at the war memorial was unveiled in honor of Lieutenant Conner and Private Valdez.
Throughout the day, immersive reenactments were presented. The day ended with a Liberation Ball.
I chose to capture them through color and black-and-white editing, striving to replicate the look of photographs from that time period.
